Canyons Athletics to Host Poker Tourney Fundraiser Aug. 1

The College of the Canyons Athletics Department and COC Foundation have partnered to host a Poker Tournament fundraiser in support of the Cougars' 17 intercollegiate sports programs on Saturday, Aug. 1, in the college's West P.E. Gymnasium.

Tickets to the Inaugural Canyons Athletics Poker Tournament are on sale now through the COC Foundation.

Tournament registration is $125 per player when purchased before Friday, July 24, and includes a catered dinner. A $50 non-playing ticket includes dinner only. Beer and wine will be available for sale at the event. 

Entry fees increase to $150 after the early registration period with walk-up registration also available.

Tournament re-buys can be purchased on event night.

Proceeds support each player's chosen Cougar team or program of choice, as designated during the registration process.

Prizes will be awarded to the top nine players advancing to the tournament's final table.

Attendees must be 21 or older to participate in the tournament.

The evening begins at 5 p.m. with the happy hour and dinner portion of the event. Poker play is scheduled to begin promptly at 6 p.m.

A number of event sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses and individuals interested in supporting the event.
