College of the Canyons hurler Ricky Sturm earned California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) SoCal Pitcher of the Week honors for Week No. 13 (Apr. 13-19), announced Wednesday.
Sturm led the Cougars to back-to-back wins over L.A. Mission College last week on the mound, earning a save and a win. He recorded the final out in the team's 12-8 win, earning his fifth save of the year, before making a return appearance two days later, tossing a complete-game gem to lead Canyons to a 13-1 win. He scattered five hits, allowing only one run, no walks, and fanning three. Of his 96 pitches, 74 were counted as strikes. Overall, he's 5-2 on the season in 56.1 innings of work.
