College of the Canyons hosts Pasadena City College in its 2025 league opener Saturday, Sept. 20. Kickoff is 12 p.m.

Saturday's matchup is a Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Central League contest.
Canyons (0-3) continues to play competitive football despite falling a few points short in each of its first three outings. The Cougars suffered a 57-54 home loss to No. 8 Riverside City College in week three, the third straight game in which the Cougars fell by a margin of four points or less.
Isaiah Rameau rushed for 184 yards on 22 carries, the most for a Cougar running back since the 2019 season. He was named the Chick-Fil-A Valencia Town Center Player of the Game.
COC enters today's game unranked in the JC Athletic Bureau Head Coaches Poll for the first time this season. Pasadena City (2-1) is ranked No. 18 in the same poll.
The Lancers were handed a 28-21 loss by Saddleback College in week one before bouncing back with wins vs. Santa Barbara City College in week two, and a tight 24-23 victory vs. Palomar
College last Saturday.
These two programs last met in 2015 with the Cougars earning a 28-24 road win in Pasadena.
