Jacob Gonzalez Chooses Eureka College for Next Stop

A second member of the College of the Canyons men's basketball program is moving on to the four-year level with Jacob Gonzalez recently announcing his commitment to Eureka College.
Eureka College is an NCAA Division III program located in Eureka, IL. The Red Devils compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
Gonzalez was an All-WSC, South Division Honorable Mention selection for the Cougars in 2023-24. The sophomore point guard averaged 6.4 points alongside two rebounds and a team-best 2.3 assists per game.
The Chatsworth High School graduate logged starts in 27 of 28 games ranking second on the squad at 23.3 minutes each night out.
His season high 17 points came in an 83-71 road victory at Cuesta College on Jan. 3. Gonzalez also recorded a season-best six assists on three occasions.
Gonzalez also appeared in 25 games as a freshman in 2022-23, ranking among the team leaders with a 46.2 percent field goal percentage.
Earlier this spring, sophomore Jonah El-Farra announced his commitment to Westminster University in Utah.
The men's basketball program has now seen five players transfer to four-year programs across the last two seasons following the COVID-19 pandemic.
