RANCHO CUCAMONGA — College of the Canyons pushed a goal across early in the second half to salvage a 1-1 draw at Chaffey College on Tuesday, with the result snapping a four-game losing streak.
Canyons (2-5-2) trailed 1-0 after the sixth minute when the Panthers (6-2-3) were able to get one past goalkeeper David Zendejas for the early lead.
The Cougars answered back in the 51st minute when Alexander Deras scored an unassisted goal to even things up at 1-1.
COC goalkeeper Jonathan Mazon (2-1-2) then made a key save in the second half to preserve the draw.
Canyons is back home to take on College of the Desert at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, with that game being livestreamed to fans free of charge on the Cougars Sports Network.
