No. 4 Canyons Served a Playoff Loss at No. 1 L.A. Mission

SYLMAR — No. 4 College of the Canyons had its postseason run come to an end with a 5-0 road loss at No. 1 L.A. Mission College on Tuesday.
The loss ends the team season for Canyons (12-7) which had achieved a program first with its playoff victory over No. 5 Riverside City College in the postseason's opening round.
L.A. Mission (23-0), the Western State Conference (WSC) champions, earned the sweep by earning all three doubles points. The Eagles also won points in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches.
After the team result had been determined the No. 1, 2, 3 and 6 singles matches were halted prior to completion.
The victory propels L.A. Mission College to the final four of the 3C2A Women's Tennis postseason bracket. The Eagles will face No. 2 Orange Coast College for the SoCal Regional title on Saturday, April 18. The winner of that match will then face northern California No. 1 seed Sierra College for the state title.
Canyons next competes at the 3C2A Singles & Doubles Championships running April 23-25 in Ojai.
The Cougars will see all three of its doubles pairings compete at the state championships.
Included in that group are WSC doubles champions Emma Chodur/Baylee Renfro, along with the pairings of Lauren Neal/Breana Lemos and Nadia Godoy-Ortega/Olivia Snyder.
Chodur, the WSC singles champion, and Renfro will both compete in the singles tournament.
