SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons volleyball team handedly defeated Allan Hancock 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-12) on Wednesday night in Santa Maria. With the victory, the Cougars close out their non-conference season with a 9-2 record.
Freshman Serena LeDuff led the offensive charge with 10 kills, to go with her 10 digs. Sophomore Ashleigh Tippet dished out 23 assists, while sophomore Cassidy Fitzpatrick turned in 23 digs to lead the defense. Freshman Kaitlyn Reiner had a team high four blocks and freshmen Camari McWright and Alyssa Tarango notched three blocks apiece.
Canyons hit .218 against the Bulldogs and registered 39 kills, 63 digs and nine aces.
COC will return to action on Friday, Oct. 4 as they open Western State Conference, South Division, play against Antelope Valley College at 6 p.m.
