SANTA CLARITA — Another standout performance from sophomore outside hitter Serena LeDuff lifted the College of the Canyons Volleyball team to a routine 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-13) victory over Long Beach City College on Friday at COC.
LeDuff finished Friday's action with 10 kills on 24 total attacks, as well as 12 digs for a total of 13 points. Teammate Lauren Underwood finished with 10.5 points of her own, while freshman setter Katie Rutecki continued to display impressive early-season form with 25 assists.
Through nine matches, Rutecki has amassed 284 assists, giving her an average of 31.5 per contest, as well as 9.5 per set.
The win moved COC to 6-3, and 2-1 at home following the Cougars' loss to Irvine Valley in the team's home opener on Sept. 5.
Next up for COC is a road showdown with rival Ventura College at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.
